Chobani Yogurt and a Bit of a Crush

“I know how important it is to be accepted in your community. It’s only possible if you get a job.”

Chobani founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya

THIS video is the best story about our work I’ve ever heard. Employers ARE the best advocates for hiring refugees.

  1. I knew I loved Chobani . I work with refugees in Jacksonville, Florida and spend a great deal of time explaining to employers and the community the plight of refugees and their need to work for self sufficiency, self esteem and to not be a burden on the community. For the most part we are quite successful but it is a tough job for our case workers. If only more employers would take the opportunity and hire a refugee as Hamdi Ulukaya does our jobs would be easier. With heightened awareness in the world of the current refugee crisis, people also need to be aware of the need for increases in wrap around services and employment opportunities for those coming in. What a beautiful story and wonderful individual.
