Are you an immigrant or refugee artist? Know anyone who is? Would you like to showcase your work or theirs?

Cecilia Pessoa, Communications Associate at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), began a blog series called Through Courageous Eyes – focused on  refugee and migrant artists — showcasing many types of work from painting to photography to poetry.

She is searching for qualifying artists or craftspeople of all ages who might be interested in submitting some of their work. Contributors could be interviewed or write a guest blog post, but any ideas you have are welcome.

Possible contributors can range from youth artists to professionals to individuals working in traditional arts or crafts. Here are a couple examples of previous posts by an Iraqi painter and a young immigrant artist.

If you have questions or know of interested refugees or migrants, please share this post with them and contact Cecilia Pessoa, LIRS Communications Associate, at cpessoa@lirs.org.
